The stuff people actually want to know before they reach out.
Cost, ownership, websites, content, social media, and timelines answered plainly, with no sales runaround. If your question isn't here, just ask.
Pricing & cost
How much does a website cost?
It depends on the size of the site. A simple one-page site for a service business is a much smaller job than a multi-page site with forms and extra setup. Because it's just me and not an agency, there's no overhead built into the price, so it stays affordable for small businesses. You get a flat price agreed on before any paid work starts.
Are there hidden fees or surprise charges?
No. The price is agreed on upfront, and anything that costs money afterward, like your domain renewal or hosting, is explained to you before you commit, not after.
Do I have to pay anything to see what my site would look like?
No. The personalized preview is free. You tell me about your business, I build a preview of your actual website, and you decide from there. Nothing is owed if you don't move forward.
Are there ongoing monthly costs?
Your domain renews yearly and hosting has a small ongoing cost depending on the setup, both laid out for you before launch. If you want me to handle ongoing changes and keep everything maintained, that runs $15 a month and covers edits anytime you need them. It's optional, not required.
Ownership & control
Do I own my website?
Yes. The site is yours. You're not renting it from me, and you're not locked into staying with me to keep it online.
Who owns the domain name?
You do. The domain is registered in your name and under your account, so it always stays your property even if you ever work with someone else.
Domain, hosting & launch
I don't have a domain yet. Can you handle that?
Yes. I'll help you pick a good domain name for your business, get it registered in your name, and connect it to the site so everything points where it should.
I already have a domain. Can I keep it?
Absolutely. Your existing domain gets pointed at the new site. You don't lose it and you don't have to change your email address or business cards.
Will my site work on phones?
Yes, and it's designed for phones first. Most people find local businesses on their phone, so every layout is checked on phone, tablet, and desktop before it goes live.
Can you help with my Google listing?
Yes. I can make sure your website details line up with your Google Business Profile so people searching for you find the right information.
Social media management
What does social media management include?
It can include content planning, post design, caption writing, scheduling, posting, and keeping your brand consistent. The exact work is agreed on based on the platforms and amount of support your business needs.
Which social media platforms can you manage?
I can create and manage content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. The focus stays on the platforms that make sense for your business instead of trying to be everywhere.
Do I keep ownership of my social media accounts?
Yes. Your business keeps ownership and control of its accounts. I only use the content and posting access needed for the work you approve.
Do you guarantee followers, leads, or sales?
No. I provide consistent, professional content and management, but I do not promise specific follower counts, engagement, leads, or sales. The goal is to keep your business active, consistent, and well represented online.
Can you handle my website and social media together?
Yes. You can choose website design, social media management, or both. Handling both makes it easier to keep the same brand, message, and professional look across your full online presence.
Process & working together
Who actually builds my website?
Me, Ian. IK Web Development is one person in Little Rock, Arkansas. You talk directly to the person designing your website or creating and managing your social content, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.
How long does it take?
The free preview usually comes back quickly. After that, timing depends on the size of the site and how fast we can go back and forth on details, but small business sites are typically a matter of days to a couple of weeks, not months.
I'm not good with computers. Is this going to be complicated for me?
No. You don't need to know anything technical. You tell me about your business in plain language, I handle the design, setup, domain, and launch, and you just say what you like or want changed.
Do I have to write all the text and provide photos?
No. If you have photos and wording, great, they'll get used. If you don't, I can work from what you tell me about your business and fill in the gaps so you're not stuck staring at a blank page.
Can I get changes made after the site is live?
Yes. If you want ongoing edits and maintenance, that's $15 a month and you can request changes anytime. If you'd rather handle things yourself or just reach out occasionally, that works too.
Do you only work with businesses in Arkansas?
I'm based in Little Rock and work with local businesses across Arkansas, but the whole process works remotely, so I can provide website design and social media management for businesses anywhere.
I searched 'small business website design near me' and found you. Do you work with my kind of business?
Probably. I do website design for local businesses of all kinds: service companies, contractors, shops, clinics, restaurants, consultants, and more. If you serve customers in a specific area and need a site that explains what you do and makes it easy to contact you, that's exactly what I build.
Still have a question? Just ask me directly.
Send a few details about your business and I'll answer honestly about the website, social media support, or complete online presence you need.
